Artist Trading Card

Hello Everyone,
Showing off my Artist Trading Card using:
 USArtQuest watercolors
  Mary Vogel Lozinak-Bird Head Stamp
Archival Ink - Sepia
Flower : recycled cordboard box, brown paper bag
Embossing Powder: my mixture of  black & gold

The USArtQuest watercolor palletes go so perfectly with this stamp. The beautiful colors with the sparkling Mica effect gives this Bird Head stamp magnificent coloring. I did emboss the Bird Head Stamp after stamping with my own mixture of  black and gold embossing powder.  I also used the USArtQuest watercolors on flower.
I wish you could see this in person. My camera does not do it justice.
I distressed the edges with scissors & edged with Archival Ink/Sepia.
*************************
Now if I had a really good camera the colors would look more like this..no kidding!
 USArtquest watercolors are AWESOME!
*******************
I thoroughly enjoyed making my trading card. What fun..

'Enjoy Life'

Hello Everyone,
I am going to share my Teenie Beanie Sprout Album.

I am so happy I am getting to share my 'Teenie Beanie Sprout' album by 'Punky Sprouts'.  As I waited to get me a 5" Xyron machine to complete the process of putting together I got to pick the colors & paper design.
Before  (Punky Sprouts Products)

Design Paper, Xyron Machines 2.5 & 5", emblishments
I picked the design collection by 'Pink Paislee' called Sweetness because I have always had a love for old world rose/flower designs if I may call it that. And Pink Paislee has a lot of my favorite Paper Collections.

The 'Teenie Beanie' pages are a perfect size like a handheld purse book.
The page sizes run approximately  4 1/2 by 5 1/2.

The hardest part was deciding  what I wanted to show as my Introduction to my pages.  I chose the topic 'Enjoy Life' and put scriptures that have encouraged and brought my walk closer to God during this chapter of my life journey.
I used lots of butterflies as page tabs and as emblishments. I fringed the edge of the canvas page that comes with the Teenie Beanie Sprocket pack. It comes with two I only used one on this album.
The Word Sentiments are from Pink Paislee.

Enjoy Life

I am so happy with the final piece. I did not want to over decorate around the hinges since the paper design pattern had enough going on.  My first officical mini-album...check, done...I'm ready to conquer more of them..especially since the Xyron machine made it alot easier.

Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is out.

Simple yet Satisfying

Hello Everyone,
I have found this wonderful vintage paper design called Elegance by Recollections. It comes with five different designs in the 8.5x11 packet. This is my favorite design of the five though they are all beautiful.  I find this design is hard for me to cover with anything because its so pretty so this is what I came up with. I already had this sentiment typed and printed from my computer and it was the perfect size small print. The flower was a great find on a different store visit and punch diecut I found in the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby. It was a great treasure find that day, I always enjoy going by the clearance section. Don't you love when you find those great bargains?

This is the inside of the top half of the card. Used tidbits of Graphic 45-A Ladies Dairy Collection.

I put this sentiment stamp in the inside. One of my favorites.
***********************************

I made this card for one of my prayer partners...she loved it.
This card was made one of my wee hour mornings...where I woke up wanting to make a card. I have that bad habit..some mornings I can't sleep or don't feel good and just go into my craftroom and play. This morning I kept thinking of my Cousin Margie who had colon cancer..she found through Chemo it cleared but now the cancer has gone into her liver.  They started her on a more serious chemo therapy.  I heard she got sick really bad from it...my heart aches for her. Please remember her in prayer..the family would appreciate.                                             ********************************

Fun with a Punky Sprouts Sprocket

Recycled the net bag my lemons came in to add texture to my flowers.

I love recycling and using things for my crafts.  I am using some of my stash to play in 'Punky Sprouts' September Challenge- Recyle/Upcycle or repurpose .

I watercolored the Sprocket Sprout with USArtquest watercolors & wrote fun & sweet words with gel pens.

I used the net bag that my lemons came in. I cut pieces and placed in between flowers and behind the premade Pink Paislee sprocket emblishment. Other emblishments used from the Punky Sprouts Store were: Lil Blooms and one of my Sprockets from my 'Sprocket Sprout Album' packet.

I made this for my Son David and my Grand daughter Karissa. He loved it..its just the start of an album I am putting together of my Grand daughters growing years. She is now 13 years old. My how time flies.

Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is out.

Pinwheel Flowers

Hello Everybody,
I was going through some of my pre-made flowers and ran into these pinwheel flowers I had forgotten about so I'm here today in pinwheel mode.

To make them I cut two 12 inch strips, one is 1 inch wide and the other is 1 1/2 inch wide, I cut one side of the strip with scissors that had a swirl design cut. I scored at every 1/4 inch, then folded and glued ends and adding a piece of paper on botton to hold pinwheel. This is also a good way to use up some of those paper scrap strips.
My sentiment/scripture stamp is from Justrite Stamps.  And my special little girlee stamp which you have seen me use alot is 'Skinny Minnie' created by Artist/Designer Mary Vogel Lozinak sold through Viva Las Vegastamps! and is Item#18302.

I made this one with flocked black velvet design paper as the background and used Martha Stewarts embroidery diecut. On the pinwheel flowers I really like using pattern paper especially the design on this one with decorated lines and swirls. I also used the scissors with the swirl design blade. The scripture stamp I bought from Hobby Lobby.
Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out.

Tags into Bookmarks

Hello Everyone,
I am stamping some tags and making them into bookmarks for a Ladies gathering we are having at church. The stamp has one of my favorite scriptures from the Holy Bible, Numbers verse 24 and 25.

I added this fun yarn as a ribbon. I wanted to make them bookmarks.
This was a quick an easy project I wanted to share. The tags are a book of tags by Anna Griffith.

Until next time...

Give Me Ribbon Pearls & Glitter..Anyday

Hello Everyone...
Emblishments:   Ribbon, Pearls & Martha Stewart - Glitter Pen color-brownstone
Paper: Graphic 45 & DCWV
Image from: Graphic 45- A Ladies Dairy Collection
**************************************
I love wearing pearls..and even better that it is my birthstone so putting them on a card is a treat. Its just one of those things I don't think of doing often, go figure. So when I ran into a card challenge the lighbulb turned on...what can I say. I have been going over and organizing my collection of papers and wanting to use and show them off that I forgot about all my pretty glitters and bling. Thank God for challenges to bring out & use the goodies we have on hand and don't use unless challenged. Just like our character, God has a way of  polishing, shining and even chipping stuff off we picked up on our life journey.  He wants to develope us with all his goodness, encourage us, make us shine so we can share in fellowship as we Praise Him.

The Diva

*******************
I went to Hobby Lobby the other day and found this beautiful turquoise ribbon. I love the texture it gives and the lovely frilly look it gave my card. I should have bought more than one color. At least now I know to use their 40% coupon for my next trip on another color.
I am entering this card in:
Crazy Catz Weekly Challenge -3 Embellishments, 2 Paper's  and 1 Image
Through the Craftroom Door Challenge - Diva or Anything goes(I chose Diva)
Well, I must say I really love this card..think I am going to figure out how to frame it in a shadow box style.
Hope you enjoyed and leave a comment. Until next time..this Frugal Grannie is out.

Hearts

Hello Everyone...
I decided to design a card with Turquoise, Orange and Black colors with 'Hearts' being my theme.
Entering it onto Card Makin Mamas bi-weekly challenge ----theme is Hearts.

I used portions of Graphic 45-A Ladies Dairy Collection, two of  Martha Stewarts different  Heart handheld diecuts, Spellbinders Rose Creation. The Turquoise single hearts placed is a Border trim die I just cut the individual hearts out and made them 3-D. The Orange & Turquoise are Bazill paper which I stamped & distressed with blank ink.

I used Anna Griffith Black velvet-flocked Design Paper as backing and in the background. The sentiment 'Believe' is from a stash of goodies I won.

I hope you enjoyed my card..when I look at the couple in the picture it tugged at my heart to pray for married couples...to believe and hold on to their love, listen/watch/be aware of each others needs.

Until next time..be safe..be aware..know that God wants what is best for you.
