Bells, Baubles and Beads on A Cone

3D digital Image-Winter Wonderland skater/ My Besties - Designed by Sherri Ann Baldy

Hello Fellow Crafters,
Today I have the fun of sharing with you this adorable  Shabby Chic Decorative Laced-up Cone hanger. First I must share and say I got the idea from a talented, fabulous and gracious crafter Bibiana who shares her lovely how-to crafts on her Blog-Stamping with Bibiana. She had created a Victorian style cone.  What is so fabulous about gracious Crafters that share their How-to's is you can tweak to your creative touch. Bibiana does give you the instructions I am adding a few suggestions on mine for those that want a little more detailed measurements to go by. It was a fun paper project not very hard.

I chose to make this Shabby Chic Decorative Laced-up Cone to showcase this precious 3 D Decoupage -My Besties/Winter WonderLand Skater  which is pre-colored digital image I had won on one of my entries into My Besties 3D Decoupage Challenge.  And guess what...I am going to enter this one too...since they inspired and tickled me to create something using Bells, Baubles and Beads. I invite you to go visit their Challenge Blog their Design Team creations are always amazing.

These would be great for birthday party cones or just for a special someone.

Items Needed to make your own Decorative Cone:
- two 6x6 cardstock Design Papers
- ruler, scissors, hole punch, tape, glue
- ribbon or string or rope or tulle, or hemp( whatever you choose to use as handle)
- Embellishments of your choice

My Card Recipe:
3D Decoupage Image: My Besties/Winter Wonderland Skater
Design Paper: Bassill
Embellishments- Hobby Lobby/Feather, baubles, beads, bells, pearl spray
Ribbons and Lace my stash
Paper Ruffle-Petaloo
Aleene's Tacky Glue, Clear tape

Here are some pictures of how I started. Forgive me for not taking pictures of where I made markings to make sure I punched holes for proper spacing.

-Choose a 6x6 Design Paper with the side you want showing outside if you happen to use double-side DP like I did
-Choose 1 corner/2sides of it glue down your decorative edge
-Place/Tape handle on the Top side of the decorative edge
-Place/Tape decorative item you want to hang on bottom of Cone.

- Add a  1 1/2 inch strip of cardstock to each side where you are going to punch hole to lace your ribbon/string on for strength
-Choose your Design Paper to show from the inside to glue down.

The inside measurement of the new square to be covered is now 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
- Measure 1/2 inch in to start punching holes
- Punch holes in 1 inch increments

This 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Square will cover the handle strings and bottom decoration and will make your Cone sturdy.

Get you a clap/big clip ready...to clip top ends together for lacing.

Once you have smoothed down and let all the adhesives dry start to mold your Cone with your hands to make the ends curve into each other. You can't see the holes I punch very easily with my design paper but they are their. I embroider so to make it easier for me I used 2 needles to thread my ribbon downward.

Here is my completed Shabby Chic Decorative Cone.

I hope I tickled you into giving this a try. I am once again so grateful for Bibiana tickling my creativity.
Here is another picture where I placed this precious paper project on my tree...here she is. As you can see the baubles and feathered decorative piece on my Cone are used throughout my Christmas tree decorated with love.
I would like to enter this paper project into the following Challenges:
