Tag & Artist Trading Card

Hi Everyone,
Sharing a Tag & Artist Trading Card I created for a swap with Viva Las Vegas Stamps Forum which anyone can join. They share stamping techniques, tips and have open discussions on stamping.
I used the 'Bird Head' stamp by Designer Mary Vogel Lozinak on the tag along with a 'Zentangle' stamp by Designer Sandra Strait both available at Viva Las VegaStamps! You can look on the tabs for the sections of interest. And FYI..they are having free shipping for the month of October and check out their Facebook page
I am hooked on and love using this 'Bird Head' stamp and love what USArtquest watercolors does with the detailed design. I used embossing powder once stamped and also used the same 'Bird Head' stamp to create a design on the sides using the top of the 'Bird Head'. I embossed the tag with Cuttlebug 'Dots' & 'Numbers' folders and then used Tsukinek Walnut & Eucalyptus spray Antiquing Solution to make the embossing pop. I placed some score lines between the embossed 'Dots' and the other techniques.
The flowers were created with the McGill 'Floral Petals/Rose' Punch.
I did a lot more watercoloring with USArtQuest on the Artist Trading Card. The sentiment and the background stamps are also found in the Viva Las VegaStamps! Store/Online. The background stamp is a Zentangle stamp designed by Sandra Strait. I have to show you this one on its own along with one of Sandra's Zentangle art pieces she has done. SHe is on Facebook under Life Imitates Doodles.

Hope you enjoyed my sharing..Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out.

Simple...Hard?...Yeah..Nay..Doesn't have to be.

Hi Everyone,
Not sure why sometimes its hard for me to go simple. I wanted to make a special birthday card for my youngest sister.  She doesn't like flowery and lots of bling but loves black and white. So this is what I came up with. I used an assortment of mini-cuttlebug embossing folders.

I have to share a little life nugget with you.a .life learning lesson.. I guess its good to watch some of these realilty shows. And one of them I enjoy is 'Project Runway.' I know I am not perfect so if I can I try learning by others mistakes. I do enough on my own so if I can learn by being attentive then I figure less knocks on my head from my own..so far I still make to many on my own.
As I was trying to make this card I remembered one of the episodes when the designer is having to design a dress for a client not being told but learning during the process not to lose their design style. Unfortunately some not recognizing that until the end.
Guess life is just like that too...you meet all kinds of people with different beliefs, attitudes and character..it doesn't mean you lose yourself or get an attitude because they are different.... but allow yourselves to shine together in the midst as you share lifes journey. Watch a new beauty begin.

Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out.

Washi Playtime

Hello Everyone,
Having fun using my We R Memory Keepers washi tape I got a great buy on a package of 18 different designs. And I love them all.  Here are a few cards I made using some..And Uuhhh my special little Harvest crown for a special little someone.

Styrofoam crown(double pack) from Dollar Store

I love how the washi patterns just fall in place with any paper design.

I had fun playing with the patterns flowing into each other.

Patterned washi on patterened paper...pretty, pretty.

The best is for last which was putting washi tape as part of a pattern on this styrofoam crown I got at the Dollar Store. It came in a pack of two, one this pretty bright orange and the other hot pink.  They had other colors. I have the perfect little Princess waiting for her crown.

I hope you enjoyed. I know I did..can't wait to get started on the other crown.
Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is out.
