Gatefold Card 3D Style

3D Decoupage Digital Image/Mailbox-  Created by Sherri Baldy

Hello Fellow Crafters,

I am excited today to share with you my fun play with this adorable Mailbox 3D Decoupage image created by Sherri Baldy. It is available for purchase here in the Scrapbook Stamp Society Store for your opportunity to play with and tweak to your creative liking. I had so much fun with it. I knew I had to get it when I saw it. I have this thing for mailboxes. It reminded me of a sweet friend I lost to illness. He gave me the cutest card with a bear putting a card in the most preciously decorated mailbox....so this one tugged at my heart.

Below  is a picture of  how the 3D Decoupage Image comes. When I first saw them used on a card I thought they were beautiful and that was a picture. They are even more so in person...But I also thought what a fabulous colorist that did each of those card designs. How am I ever going to get that good and even cut and make into a 3D design.  Goodness...they come pre-colored. Someone did color it for us and all we have to do is cut, place adhesive foam tabs for dimension. You and the person that receive this are going to love it... they are paper art.  Mind you not everyone will get one because I consider them precious keepsakes made with tender loving care.   Here is what this one looked like when I purchased and printed it.
Here is a side view of the 3D dimension. I also gave the frame a Spellbinders Nestabilities Stately Circle die  a 3D effect by cut 2 extra framing them out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle. Giving the frame the 3d effect was alot of work cutting little tiny adhesive foam tabs and coloring them red so you would not see them but the love of making it was worth it at the end.

 I wanted to make a special Christmas card and My Besties 3D Challenge Blog tickled my creativity to go with creating something with more than 1 fold so the card style I chose to showcase My Besties Mailbox 3D image in is on a Gatefold style card. I invite you to check out their Blog. Their Design Team share some amazing and beautiful 3D creations. Here is a Youtube video in case you want to try this Gatefold style card. I hope you look into trying these 3D Decoupage images. I find them relaxing and a way to soothe my thoughts as I dream up all the ways I am going to decorate and design my paper project.

Fun Pencil Coloring Challenge

My Besties Digital Image-Remix 15 Besties by Sherri Baldy

Hello Fellow Crafters,

I am so excited today to announce I have been given the fun opportunity to join the My Besties UK Design Team.  A new Challenge starts today, Monday, October 20 and runs through Sunday, November 2, 2014 with the THEME: Anything Goes plus Pencil Coloring.  You can enter your cards, scrapbook pages or any paper project up to 3 times but you must use a My Besties/Sherri Baldy image. Please be sure to check out the My Besties UK  Challenge Rules to clarify. I cannot wait to see what you create as I come by and visit your Blogs.

 I decided to create a Criss-Cross card showcasing the precious My Besties image called 'Remix 15 Besties'  Created by Sherri Baldy available in the Scrapbook Stamp Society Store.  There are so many My Besties I love and hard to choose at times which one I want to color and bring to life in my paper project design.  I was thinking Birthday and gift so it narrowed my choice a little. This one caught my eye and these orange, purple and green color choices popped in my head as the My Besties/Remix 15 Bestie look so precious carrying her purse with a lollipop in it.  And what is so awesome about this particular My Besties UK Challenge THEME: Pencil Coloring is I have been doing some research on which pencils are better for coloring digital images. I see so many talented coloring artists out there and I rarely see them share the types of pencils they use...not realizing there are soft, verithin and other choices to use to enhance and perfect your coloring. I found this Youtube Video I am glad to share with you if you are wanting to decide what to get yourself or buy to build your quality of coloring pencil supplies. So I found my choice to be the Prismacolor Verithin pencils. I am so glad  I found this video and built my knowledge. You are getting to see first hand the intense colors the Verithin pencils have...the best part I can share is they are a harder thicker lead that does not break as easy and I like that you can take lesser strokes for a more intense color. Here is the Video given by Gisele Grenier - Comparing Derwent and Prismacolor pencils. I do have some Derwent that I love to use. They have a softness about there touch and the lead that wears down easily at least with my heavy hand they do.  I did use some of my new Prismacolor Verithin pencils for this digital image and I love the way it came out along with some of my Derwent pencils for the hair.

As I worked on designing my Criss Cross card. I decided I was going to make 2 pieces to insert in the card a bookmark and a Birthday note.
Card Recipe:Digital Image: Remix 15 Besties
 Design Paper: DCWV, Bazzill

Happy Hopper

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Here today sharing my fun play with a double pocket card. I love this style card. I used this one today to put a bookmark tab and an insert with 'Just a Note;  message,  I stamped a scripture on the other side of the 'share Faith offer Prayer gather Hope' stamp. I forgot to take a picture of it .Here is a tutorial created by Jessica Parker for the Double Pocket card for you to try.  I have not created anything in a while using my House-Mouse Stamps...so I decided to showcase this adorable  'Happy Hoppers' stamp available through Stampendous!. They are all just adorable and fun. I always try to look through the clearance racks at Hobby Lobby for discounted House-Mouse stamps and I always find a good bargain on them.  I have so many fun stamps by some fabulous designers...but not enough time in the day to play with them all..then I forget about them. That does irritate me...so I need to make a better schedule on alternating at least one in my week.  I know I follow a lot of Blogs and you Ladies and Gents are so good about making cards by different Designers. Anyways...these House-Mouse Stamps were my first love into getting into coloring stamps...can you blame me.

I always love sharing a word of encouragement on my cards. I don't sell them and have been tempted to try. I mostly send to family, friends and acts of kindness.

Tent card made into an Apron card

Hello Fellow Crafters,

I am so excited today to share with you my first Tent card turned into an Apron card thanks to a creative and talented Artisan who tickled my creativity as she shared it along with other wonderful templates and digital images on her Blog - Netty's Cards. Her name is Annette from United Kingdom. She shared the actual written tutorial for the Tent card to Apron card on her Blog site I provided...but I did pull a Youtube Video by Jayne Tate on how to make a Tent Card because I did not know how. Annette and Jane bountiful blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ to you. Thank you two ladies for your graciousness and sharing of your creative talents and tutorials with us. Please visit Annette's/Nettie's Blog and her Freebies tab and leave her a sweet comment as you check out her goodies.

I made my Apron card so that I could put this little packet of peppermint tea bags for a friend. I thought it was another fun way to put a little special something inside with a sweet little note: Just Because.

I also thought that this sweet 'My Besties image called 'Little Daisy' 3D Deco' would look perfect on an apron since she was wearing a pretty one herself.  I love these 3D Decoupage images. I find myself cutting them during my relaxing times on the sofa.   I thinking this is will even be a good little pre-Christmas goodie card gift.

You can see the layers of Little Daisy here.

Fight for A Cure

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Here today sharing my card with a special cause.  Fight for a cure. Cancer is not prejudice of age or where on the body it strikes. I have seen family and friends go through challenging procedures to get cured and back to some state of normal if they survived the battle. It is so hard to watch the ones you love as the body goes through debilitating stages. My heart is heavy for the victim and their family. My prayers go out to them.  Heavenly Father, please have mercy and pour your grace upon the victim and families as they go through the hard times.
Bible Dictionary Definitions:
grace--favor or kindness shown without regard to the worth or merit of the one who receive it and in spite of what that person deserves.
mercy--the aspecct of God's love that cause3s Him to help the miserable, just as grace is the aspect of His love that moves Him to forgive the guilty.

++++++++

My card is designed to showcase the precious 'Hope Fight 4 A Cause' digital image created by Sherri Baldy a My Besties image and available here.  I made a hinged card with the Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangle and here is a Youtube video  by Becca Feeken I found that shares how to make a hinged card. Two Fer

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Today I am sharing a unique card I came up with. I wanted to make a tag with a card. I always see so many pretty different kinds with pockets and some with the tag glued on yet I did not know how to do it.  I kept tinkering with it in my mind and came up with this. I used a doily to hold my tag in and decorated the card so when the tag is taken out it can stand as a pretty card on its own.
++++
I know this sounds crazy but once I got to working on my card with a tag. I started thinking of how happy I am since I have been able to let my heart and mind loose and create my paper projects. And that I can be me...my unique self...different in creating what is tickling inside to come out on paper. I had been bullied so long for being weird, thinking different from others, wanting to put a little more pizzaz in my projects and loving to do the extra work. Maybe I didn't express myself right who knows...but today I release all that old stress of being beat down for liking unique. I thank God for what and who he is growing me to be and am going to let my little light shine.
+++++
Here is a closer look at my card with a tag. My ribbon was made with 3 different type texture ribbons and scrap at that...all tied and clipped together with a lovely blinged out brad. The little bingo card with Moments on it was cut from  Bazzil Design Paper. My flowers were put together from various Recollections petals and brads. Loving the lovely Marianne Designs heart doily.

I would like to enter my paper project into the following challenges.
Eureka Stamps #108  - Use some Bling
My Besties International #20 - Use a tag
My Besties Aussies #29 - anything with a My Besties
Crafty Calender October Challenge - Bingo( Sparkle-bling, Die cuts-Anna Griffin/Edge& Marianne Designs/Heart Doily, blue)
Word Art Wednesday #152 - Anything Goes (with Scripture)
The Sisterhood of Crafters- Lots of Layers
Sister Act #77 - Anything Goes

Design Paper, Scissor and Glue

Hello Fellow Crafters,

I am so excited to share with you today this fun and easy Gable Box I made with a tutorial I found on Youtube. It was easy as 1-2-3.  And it is just in time for the holiday season. Gift giving of  sweet treats, special teas or whatever catches your fancy that will fit in this box.  The size where I placed the image only is 3 3/4 wide by 4 inches tall (does not include the handle).

I saw an awesome fellow crafter share her Gable Box creation and believe me I went with simple and money saving smart for my first try. I just had to try it once I saw the tutorial. It actually is a good size box at least just right to give a small gift of love.  Even a gift card.  I will give you a few dimensions so you will know before you get into the tutorial. All it takes is a 8 3/4 by 12 inch sheet of Design Paper, preferably double sided looks really nice was my choice. A scoreboard would be nice or if you only have a ruler and pencil mark(lightly mark), scissors and glue. And like I shared above the space you have to work with if you want to showcase a specific image it is 3 3/4 wide by 4 inches tall(not including the handle area). Here is the tutorial to this Gable Box. I am going to say it is a wanna be Gable box if you have seen the real one you know what I mean.

I used a handpunch to make the oval hole for the handle and used those ovals to make my spiral roses. I am showcasing a My Besties Card Topper with Dimples on it.  Martha Stewart was my choice for a paper lace ribbon. I recycled several of design paper from other projects for this gable box even the ribbon. I used a pretty paperclip I bought on sale with a clear crystal on top to hold the  box shut.  I was just so excited I found the tutorial that helped me make this without a special board, SVG...it was all hand made with scissors, folds and scoring. I did use an edge rounder to give the top handle portion a nice clean elegant look. I hope you try this just a fun box/bag for sweet little gifts.

Here is a tutorial in case you want to learn how to make your own spiral flowers. You can use your scrap paper to make all kinds of sizes.  Here is the Youtube tutorial.

I would like to enter my paper project into the following challenges where I am also a Follower.
My Besties Aussie #29- Anything Goes with a Bestie
CCC Digi Designs #10 - Digi,Borders and Punches(DImples, Oval & Martha Stewart border handpunch,)
