Pattern and Texture

Hi Everyone,
I love the mixture of patterns from embossing to the patterns on the paper.

Embellishments like bling, buttons and Martha Stewart Heirloom Clay Molds
I love making cards and some of my favorite things to give them is texture by using embossing folders to embossing tools to give the flower petals and leaves dimension, using different animal print patterns together, bling, buttons and fun embellishments that I get to make by hand like the Martha Stewart Heirloom clay mold forms/circle frame. I love making my own flowers I get pleasure in that I get to bend ,squash, use embossing tools to form its beautiful shape.
This card I am sharing will be for one of my dear friends. Also it finally hit me I have not shown you how I decorate the inside of my cards. And today this is how this one was decorated.
I love giving that extra special touch to the inside of my cards too.
These are some of the tools I used to make the embellishments. The ribbons are made of fabric one being burlap. As you can see on the card I glued the zebra pattern ribbon on top of the burlap. It gave such a prettier setting and texture on the card since I did not use any other paper for a background. I did emboss the card with one of Anna Griffins new Cuttlebug Embossing folders.
I am submitting this card to several Blog Challenges:

Template & Diecuts Fun

Hi Everyone...
I made this particular card to join challenge #40 Templates and Die cuts held by Twist of Faith. I used the wonderful Spellbinders Nestabilities-Majestic Elements-S5-161. They are so beautiful and come in a set of 7 templates. I used several from the same package to make this card. One to cut the special card shape, and three other templates to cut the different layers upon the card. The white leaf die pattern is from Sizzix which I then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The flowers were made with a combination of Martha Stewart hand die cut punch along with Recollections small flower die cut punch for the center. I used white hemp as ribbon then fancied up the small buttons with pearls. I also distressed the edges of the card with pink ink.

This card is being submitted to: Twist of Faith Challenge #40 Templates & Die Cuts

I am having such a fun time joining these weekly challenges...they are so helpful in getting me out of my comfort zone and using some of my fun crafty tools  on new designs. --On another note Sometimes its the challenges in life that bring us to into better knowledge & exciting adventures.--After all...I claim God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ to be at my side...so all things are possible who believe in Him.

Let's Have Tea

Hi Everyone,

Antoinette here...your Frugal Grannie.
I have been Blog hopping and found this fun and esquisite 'The Shabby Tea Room' weekly challenge.

This week they are giving you a picture for color inspiration as shown here adding flowers and a tea theme.  It's the first time I try this type of challenge.  I love the shabby chic look of this setting so decided to join in for Tea as I am resting.  I put my creative heart to work.  I have been physically down this past weekend and now week but still try to sneak in a short playtime in my craftroom while screnging and screeching at moments trying to the  manage pain, discomfort and overcome by filling my heart with positive thoughts and creativity.
---------------
I used Martha Stewart-Vintage Doilie handheld die to fancy cut the edges. Spellbinder die to cut the shape once I used Hero Arts stamp/Tea Time Silhoutte. The pretty Tea TIME stamp is by Hot Off the Press. I used Ranger Distress Crackle paint/color Picket Fence on the white card stock edges. The pattern paper is K & Company which I distressed using my new found love distressing solution--white shoe polish. The flower under the white button is the Spellbinders Poinsettia die.
This card was created with the inspiration from 'The Shabby Tea Room' _Challenge #169_Lets Have Tea and It was also made with thoughtful loving care for a friend they brought to mind that I miss. I know she loves tea so I am going to be mailing it to her.
----------------
I also have to share...this Shabby Chic style came up at the right time. My Birthday is this Saturday and I am happy to say this Grannie is going to be the big 60 years old...and going to add to my repartee  Shabby Chic to describe this Frugal Grannie.  To top it off during my Blog Hopping and finding the Card Mania Blog they gave the definition of Shabby Chic from  Wikipedia - worn or bleached out pastel colours (white, light pink, sky blue, ecru, light grey, etc), anything with roses in the design, lace, pearls, basically anything that gives the feeling of antique, feminine and romantic.  And I have to say  I have bleached hair, wear those colors, love lace and pearls and according to my children I do give the feeling of antique...haaaaa as well as being told I am very feminine and a romantic. LOL.

I hope you enjoyed walking with me in this fun challenge.  What brings me a smile as...I type this is it really was to help overcome the challenge of my horrific pain.  I finally got updated medication Monday night from my Neurologist to calm the pain.

Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out.

Clean and Simple

I used the Big Sizzix  Wing Die and embossed it with one of Anna Griffin Cuttlebug folders. I tried something different with the wings. I make it look dimensional. On one end I put one layer of sticky circles and the other two so that it would look like it was in flight. The ribbon is actually from my stash of recycle from a purchase...love when I can use them.

Hi Everyone,

I found a fun new Blog  called Twist of Faith Card Challenges it runs weekly and encourages you to
share your uplifting, healing, inspirational and scriptural card creations.  It is right up my alley. And I decided to jump in with both feet on this weeks challenge 'Clean and Simple'.  And to tell you the truth I found it to be a tough challenge on the part of making a clean card. I am not sure why more times than less I enjoy lots of pretties on my card but not everybody does and I need to take note and work on that because I have a few friends that I give note cards or a package of mixed occasion cards as gifts and they are not into all those added emblishments.  So if they are giving them away it is not really in their taste for giving.  This blue card is actually the second card. I am going to show you the other one which is what I consider clean but when I showed it to my Grand Daughter she said the blue one is considered clean and simple to her. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks that is an old myth. This new challenge has and is going to help me learn how to monitor some of my card making. And perfect my way of doing clean and simple  which is a beautiful thing. Some things are meant to be learned through process and its turning out to be a good thing for me.

Submitted to: Challenge #39 Clean and Simple/Twist of Faith Challenge
Here is the first card I made and what I considered Clean and simple and is Not I believe its considered monochromatic in the card crafting world.

This card was created with love and will be perfect to submit to the
Blog Created with Love Challenges. In creating I used one of Anna Griffins Cuttlebug embossing folders, put some lace ribbon then a line of bling. I really loved making this card it was so quick and simple.

Let's Take a Musical Walk

Bringing out the trumpets with a Hero Arts Stamp/F5468 Musical Walk

Hi Everyone...

Sharing a card I had fun making using one of my sweet stamps by Hero Arts giving it a 3D look.
I had fun turning it into a collage of artistic eye candy with pretty emblishments
using Graphic 45/Olde Curiosity Shoppe paper collection.

------------------------------------------
This stamp kept catching my attention on my shelf this past
weekend so I put my imagination to thinking on a design
as the night came and went.  I wanted to make a card using this
sweet stamp with the silhouette of these precious children
holding their trumpets.  In my hearts imagination they
shouted to me celebration, happy times and sweet
memories to be made. I knew I wanted to stamp them
on a star die to show their sweetness off.   This stamp
really tugged at my heart thinking of the children,
tweens and teens getting all excited thinking of their
soon coming last day of school and summer fun.
I wanted to blow my trumpet as a Grandmother
and Mom telling them..."God Loves You...
enjoy making new memories on your life journey".
So with this collage of fun with the stamp Musical walk/F5468/ Hero Arts Stamp I leave you to your imagination of creativity.
I am entering this card in:
Hero Arts/Stamp Your Story Contest going on through June 30th.
Jump in the fun.

Until next time the Frugal Grannie is out.

Masculine Card

Hi Everyone,

With Father's Day coming up it has had me missing my Dad even more.  He passed on  in 1996 and I still miss him. It made me want to come up with a masculine card.

I was shuffling around in one of my desk drawers in my craftroom and found a package of tees I had not opened from when I use to golf. Yes, I said golf tees in my craftroom...I knew I would eventually use in some crafty way since I can't golf anymore. Funny how different things inspire your creativity when you have something on your mind...well at least it does to me.  I started to put one of my Spellbinder circle dies back in its place when it hit me with a visual of a golf ball so my mind started going to work on embossing the circle using one of my newly bought Anna Griffin Cuttlebug folder sets called Fabric Swatches.
It was quite fun and easy putting this card together. I made the golf ball 3D added some of my favorite embellishments by 3 Birds/Estate Collection the picture corners and the men golfing. For more texture I added burlap and hemp ribbon then I placed those cute little bead letters to spell "Tee Time".

I wanted to share this with everyone for the men in our life that love to golf.  What I love about this card is that it can be universal I know lots of women that love golfing.  We can also change up the sentiment for any occasion.

Well, I hope I inspired you to tweak it into your own version...enjoy...have fun.

Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out.

Seeds of Inspiration by a Stamp

Hi Everyone,
I am having fun reorganizing my stamps by designers and happily getting sidetracked wanting to make cards with everyone I see.  Here is a stamp called 'Seeds Guy' by one of my favorite Designers Mary Vogel Lozinak it immediately inspired me to use these 3D flowers by Anna Griffin with it.

The seeds theme inspired me to use the sentiment "Live  Love  Laugh".  Loving that I have been encouraged in my life's journey overcoming challenges to plant more seeds in my life to do just that  I encourage you to.

Live for the present for it is a gift.

Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out...

Happy Hoppers Draws a Tender Heart

House-Mouse Designs/Happy Hoppers Stamp with Pink Paislee Collection Paper
Hi Everyone,
Made this card while I am on my second day of trying to stay focused on reorganizing my stamps. As I am going through looking at them meanwhile in the back of my mind I'm thinking of all the trying things that are happening in the world today with a heavy heart.  I saw this Happy Hoppers stamp by House-Mouse Designs and it made my tender heart think at that moment, how I wish I could just keep my children and grandchildren all together and ever so close in a safety cocoon especially since the summer months are coming while they are out having fun and being carefree playing with friends.  My prayer is we unite in prayer together that all children are kept safe from predators whose minds waiver into and play with wicked thoughts of harming children and/or families.

Its hard sometimes not to get pulled into stress with all the bad news on TV.  I am so glad God reminds me with the little things and sweet tug hugs at my heart and reminds me how much more he cares for us his children and wants us to know that he does have us under his protection when we call upon His name through His Son Jesus Christ.

This is my version of Grannie Happy Hopper taking a garden stroll.

SO I put my Faith into motion in believing and already seeing in my life that God does and will provide his tender care for his children.

Happily placing this card in the House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #145/Flower Power or Flour.

Did I say Shoe Polish on my Card?

Hi Everyone,

Having a fun play day in my craftroom  today.  I decided  I wanted to play with my new found distressing technique using white shoe polish on the Spellbinders diecut forms and 3D flower along with some Tim Holtz Crackle paint on the edge of the card for a pretty shabby chic look.

Bountiful Blessings of Our Lord Jesus Christ to You & Yours

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is back to playing with creativity.

Delighting in Embossing Medley

Embossing Medley using Anna Griffin/Cuttlebug folders along with the Big Sizzix Wings.
Hi Everyone,

Wanting to share a lovely card I created for a young teen as an encouragement on beginning the summer. Remembering that even as an adult it can be discouraging to hold on to your dreams when your dreams are different from everyone else.  It can be overwhelming not understanding your uniqueness and not knowing how to cultivate the good and bad voices along with learning to keep fellowship with friends that encourage you.  I want to be able to be that mentor that shares  those desires for the things you enjoy and love giving your time to. Learning to release your inner being, thoughts, love and tenderness into art, music, volunteering or whatever your creative humanity desires for the betterment of todays world and inner self.

And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.   Phillippians 1:6

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.
1 Corinthians 2:9

Be encouraged and know you are loved...
Until next time this Grannie Annie is out.

Medley of FUN details

Hi Everyone,
It's been a while...I love making cards and am having a fun overload on playing with my Martha Stewart air dry clay and molds learning how to place them as pretty delicacies onto my cards.
-----------------------------------------------
I am still holding on to my dreams and keeping a smile up throughout my life journey.  Everyday does not come out smelling like roses.  Especially,  when life entails going through a few bumps...who am I kidding? I have a stubborn streak about me that has gotten me get more bumps on the head and still going back to the same old same old until I can't takes no more and then finally choose to try another route.

Life's journey is exactly that...an adventurous journey...with all the free will and choices as individuals we make.

Don't let failure take you down and define you but turn it to new opportunities.

I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for his Grace and Mercies for allowing me to survive and be a testimony that He does not forsake you or let you drown in your own ill choices.

With a big special Birthday coming up next month I am happy in my heart to finally have found a true joy and fulfillment in life.  And it's not material...it coming to know God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ love me unconditionally and sacrificed so that I may have life everlasting with them.

God is there all along and will take you as you are...

Until next time this Granny Annie is out.

Flower Power

Hi Everyone,

Popping in with my play at using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Poinsettia Die. I bought them a couple months ago after Christmas at 50% off.  I could not wait until Christmas came around again and at the same time have been viewing on Pinterest all types and colors of beautiful flowers from all over the world. It has become an amazing journey on tickling my creativiy. I decided to go ahead and start playing with this particular die and give them my personal touch. That is the beauty of being able to act on your creativy sometimes its intimidating to be different and stretch yourself out there but once you take that first step, tweak and don't give up the beauty shines forth in building your self confidence, a smile from enjoyment and challenging your creativity to another level.  I now have flower power.

I am wanting to share this with Word Art Wednesday that has challenges inspired by God's Word.

I hope you enjoyed and take that step to new levels of creativity.

I am sure whoever created color and all the fun rainbow of colors found some by accident and tweaking.  And what a beautiful sight they have all become with new colors still popping up.

Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is out.
