New Release Sunday with a touch of Steampunk

Hello Everyone...

It is New Release Sunday at the DigiStamps4Joy Store.  Today I am playing with one of several images being released called 'Steampunk Tree' created by Margy. I was so excited when I saw Margy's design of this 'Steampunk Tree'.  The 'Happy Holiday' round sentiment is also a creation by Margy available in the Store called 'Bottle Cap Inserts'.  It was fun pulling out my sprocket dies and embossing folders. I hope you go by the Store to see all the new images released today and the Blog to check out what the DigiStamps4Joy Design Team did with their creativity with these. The girls did a fabulous job with the 'Steampunk Tree'.

I want to take this time of sharing with you some of the techniques, where froms and embellishments I used. I finally broke down and bought me some Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection ColorCore cardstock paper. Lately, I seem to be hooked on JoAnn Fabrics wonderful Online sales... taking advantage of their no shipping fee and 40 and 50% Online Only sales. They had all Tim Holtz items 50% off so I took advantage of the deal since I have been wanting this paper because I love to use my embossing folders.  On this particular card this beautiful blue is the Tim Holtz Kraft-Core paper where I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder. It is actually a 12 by 3 folder I just worked it to emboss as a whole by just flipping the paper. I also ink embossed the design with clear embossing powder to give it a sheen and the edge of the tree diecut with Bronze Zink embossing powder. The funny looking sprinkes on the background of the Steampunk Tree is a new type embossing powder I found by Stampendous called Frantage. This Frantage embossing powder is fabulous...and came in a package of Shabby Blue, Aged Silver which is what I used , Shabby Pink and Shabby white. I bought it at JoAnn Fabrics store with a 40% coupon. (FYI...I have also seen it 40% off on their Online store.  The diecut sprockets are Sizzix Big and I love that I learned how to use these dies on my Cuttlebug. I added a metal sprocket onto the blue string from Hobby Lobby a string of jewelry charms that were 50% at one time. The bling and brads are by Recollection.

I had to come back with a tweak to my card. My physical being gets exhausted when I over exert myself with outdoor activities so I did not get to finish this touch I really wanted to add to my card before submitting to my DigiStamps4Joy Team. So here goes take a new look...I wanted to add more Sizzix gears to the top edge of my card.

Until next time this Frugal Grannie is out...Hugs
