It is a new week and a new Challenge at Twist of Faith. The recipe is make a Gatefold Card.
This week we are sponsored by Robyns Fetish. Robyn is giving 5 Digi's to this weeks Challenge winner at 'Twist of Faith' so come on by and join the fun....Stop by and showoff your gatefold card. We would love to see them.
My gatefold card is made to open off center. Here is a Youtube video if you want to try this style and join the fun. I share another gatefold style on this post below too.
The image 'Sunflower' on this card is by Robyn's Fetish. I wanted to give the beautiful Sunflower a 3D effect. These are the steps I took to do it. It may seem tedious to some but the final reward is satisfying. I used Faber Castell and Anna Griffin watercolor pencils to color the image. I made a last minute change once I had my card made because I did not like the white space on the image I diecut and was not going to be filling it with anything so I cut the Sunflower image manually with scissors along with two shadow backgrounds of different colors to give my black & cream design paper by K & Company some pop.
Here is the inside...I placed a smaller version of the 'Sunflower' by Robyns Fetish again on the inside. That is what is so wonderful about digi stamps you can change and/or use them in multiple sizes. On the inside center page I used a Cuttlebug border to emboss and the corner.
Wait...I did not stop there. I made another card with the same 'Sunflower' image.
I gave this card a shabby chic effect. I colored the image with chalks.
Here is the Youtube video for this type card. I tweaked it to put the ribbon where I wanted...that is what is so good about sharing how you create or provide tutorials. We all add our own touch of creativity. I hope you check out this video...the crafters card is a Christmas card and it is one of those Simple and Gorgeous cards... and I still want to try her method. Here is still another view of this precious card. Until next time...this Shabby Chic Grannie is out.Don't forget come, play and join the fun at 'Twist of Faith' . Come show off your Gatefold Card...with a touch of inspiration, encouragement, healing or scripture on your card.
